Dr. Holly McKnight is the most recent periodontist addition to Stoner Periodontic Specialists. She arrived in Columbus in 2009, moving from Nebraska where she grew up.

Dr. McKnight attended Creighton University and graduated cum laude with a B.A. in 2005. She continued her studies at Creighton University School of Dentistry where she again graduated cum laude and was awarded her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2009. Dr. McKnight received several honors and awards during her dental training including induction into the elite Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Following dental school, Dr. McKnight accepted a position at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry to pursue specialty training in periodontics. She excelled as a resident, serving as the representative of graduate students on College of Dentistry administrative committees. During her third and final year of residency, she was selected by faculty to serve as Chief Resident. She received a Certificate in Periodontics and successfully defended her thesis on fibroblast proteomics to receive her Master of Science degree, as well, from The Ohio State University in 2012.

Throughout her dental and specialty training, Dr. McKnight has been active in promoting and advancing dentistry through her involvement with several pursuits in dental research. In addition to her studies in the challenging analysis of fibroblast proteomes, she has presented her findings in the technology of using cone beam CT for diagnosis of oral and maxillofacial health and pathosis at national research meetings.

Dr. McKnight is passionate about being an advocate for patients’ health and well-being, which has led to her participation and support of several organizations including HONOReform Foundation, a national organization to promote patient safety in access to healthcare. Additionally, Dr. McKnight is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology, American Academy of Periodontology Foundation, and American Dental Association. Dr. McKnight believes strongly in constantly improving her practice and knowledge relative to all areas of health and wellness including dentistry. As a result, she devotes time outside of private practice to continuing education, attending lectures and study clubs.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. McKnight and her husband Curt enjoy exploring everything Central Ohio has to offer in food and entertainment.

Trusting relationships with her patients are very important to Dr. McKnight which includes paying crucial attention their needs and facilitating comprehensive health with their dentist. She finds pleasure in helping patients find happiness and confidence in their smile and overall well-being.
