Prior to being incorporated, the area that is now Minerva Park, Ohio was originally an amusement park that was built in the mid 1890, before closing in 1902. Homes and neighborhoods began to develop in the late 1920s, and by 1940, Minerva Park had incorporated as a village. Minerva Park is located in Franklin County, which holds the distinction of being the most populous county in Ohio and was named after Benjamin Franklin.
