Jennifer Swedlow, D.M.D., M.S.

Dr. Jennifer L Elzinga-Swedlow is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, board certified in periodontics and dental implant surgery. She is passionate about providing comprehensive dental care to her patients and helping them attain optimal oral health and a beautiful smile while easing any anxieties they may have about visiting the dentist.

Her educational background began at Biola University in southern California where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Biology. She went on to obtain her Doctorate in Dental Medicine degree (DMD) from Oregon Health and Science University School of Dentistry. Upon graduation in 2007, she went on to serve as a dentist in the United States Army for nine years. While having the privilege of caring for the dental needs of our Nation’s finest Soldiers, she also had the opportunity to travel the world and learn from mentors and leaders from all walks of life.

Dr. Swedlow completed specialty training in periodontics and dental implant surgery in 2013 through the Army’s Advanced Education in Periodontics residency program. During this time, she also received IV sedation certification, which allows her to provide services to patients in a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. At the same time, she continued her studies in Oral Biology and earned her Masters of Science Degree from the Medical College of Georgia where she also conducted research on novel delivery systems for growth factors to enhance wound healing.

Dr. Swedlow is an active member of the American Board of Periodontology and the American Academy of Periodontology. She is dedicated to staying up-to-date on advancements in periodontics through regular attendance at continuing education meetings and active involvement in local study clubs. She believes strongly in collaborating with other specialists and general dentists to ensure an ideal treatment plan for each individual patient.

She approaches her patients with a desire to get to know them personally and understand their individual treatment goals so together a comprehensive plan can be developed to reach those goals and improve each patient’s dental health and give them a beautiful smile. Dr. Swedlow treats each patient with gentleness and compassion and strives to make each patient encounter a positive experience.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Swedlow enjoys traveling and outdoor adventures with her husband and three young children. She stays busy volunteering with her church and her children’s school, cub scout pack, dance company, and sports teams demonstration her commitment to community service and building connections beyond the dental office.
